On Turning Down Projects

We turn down a meaningful fraction of inbound inquiries, almost always for the same reason: the space wants foot traffic managed or a wall filled, not an installation that changes how the room actually functions. A good piece adds a reason to be in a room. It’s not a decoration applied after the architecture decisions are already made, and if a client’s timeline doesn’t leave room for us to understand the space first, we’re usually not the right studio for it.
