What Actually Breaks During a Six-Month Tour

Touring pieces get load-in and load-out dozens of times, in venues with wildly different power quality, dust levels, and humidity. The failures that show up around month four are almost never the ones we worried about during design — a connector that’s fine until it’s been plugged and unplugged sixty times, a fan filter that clogs at a different rate in a humid coastal venue than a dry inland one. We’ve started building maintenance logs into every touring piece specifically to catch this pattern earlier.
